I completed this project in 2021 but am posting it here now that I've made an Art Station :) . It's a low poly, animated-illustration I created in Maya. I took this project as an opportunity to do some stylized, fantasy, character and world design. For 'Winter World' I was exploring a cel-shaded look. It was a challenge figuring out how much detail each aspect needed in order to balance the visual world I was creating. For example, the only thing that has a painted texture in this project is the character's skin, everything else was done with simple shaders utilizing ramp nodes. Also deciding how much detail to put into the water was another place that required a bit of experimenting. I ended up giving the water specularity to help make the world not look too flat. There was definitely some inspiration from Eran Hilleli's look in his Style Frame's credits as well as the video game Genshin Impact.
